How to install Ubuntu in a VM on MacOS with M1 Chip

Install a Virtual Machine that supports Mac M1 Architectures

• I went for UTM.

Install ubuntu server 20.04

• Download the ubuntu server iso and install it.
• Install Ubuntu Budgie as Desktop or
• Install your favorite desktop following instructions like here.

Coding Environment

• sudo apt-get install openjdk-17-jre-headless (or something like that)
• PyCharm from JetBrains.
• CoppeliaSim.
• GitHubDesktop.
• Terminator.
• HTop.
