Step 2: Register your Master Exam

Students need to register for an exam four weeks prior to the actual exam date. The registration is online via the form provided by the study support center (SSC)

More details on the next steps to complete your study program can be found on the SSC page for master exams.

Step 4: We will contact you via Mail

After you have submitted your registration form for the master’s thesis, we will send you an email requesting the following information:

  • Who is the first examiner (usually your supervisor)?
  • Who is the second examiner?
  • Do you already have a professor who would like to chair the examination?

Please note that there are certain rules for serving as an examiner. This may be a full professor, associate professor, assistant professor, or senior scientist (provided that they are listed among the potential examiners by the dean of studies).

Chairs must be full professors or have passed their habilitation.

Step 4: Fixed Schedule and Final Exam

Once the schedule and members of the examination board (chair and two examiners) have been finalized, you will receive another email with the final schedule, the location of your exam, and further details about the last important step in completing your study program.

You will also receive information about where you can store drinks or snacks to celebrate your success after the exam.
